One of the reasons this problem may happen is that the HF main server is down. In order to check if this is the case, try to access http://www.herofighter.com/ on your preferred web browser. If you cannot access this website but all other sites work for you, then there is nothing that you can do about it but wait for the HF main server to get back up again.
However, if you can access the website, open cmd or PowerShell as admin and type in the following commands (do not input the text in parentheses, it is only for your information.):
ipconfig /flushdns (Clear the dns cache)
nbtstat -RR (release and refesh NetBIOS names)
netsh int ip reset (reset ip settings)
netsh winsock reset (Reset Winsock Catalog)
